DESCRIPTION
Inquire into inequalities of wealth, power, and the consequence for individuals and society.

REQUIRED MATERIALS & TEXTBOOKS
Book Kerbo, Harold R.: Social Stratification and Inequality, Fifth Edition, McGraw Hill Publishers.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
  • READINGS: Students should read the entire text before taking the test. Students are advised to read the complete text before doing the written assignments as well.

  • TEST: The test has been sent to the student in the course packet. This test is and essay exam and use of the text, articles, paper, and notes that the student has may be used in completion of the test.

  • JOURNAL ARTICLE REVIEWS: 4 articles. Students are to find articles in scholarly journals. The articles must be at least 2 to 3 pages in length to be used. The student MUST summarize the articles and RELATE the articles to the textual material. The articles must be typed, double spaced, with inch to inch and one half margins. The article review should run approximately 2 to 3 pages in length.

  • PAPER: After reading the text, there should be several issues that became of interest to the student. The student should choose the topic, and research the topic. The paper should be typed, double spaced with one to one and one half inch margins. Paper length is of course dependent upon the topic, but should be no less than 5 pages in length.
