SOC 101 – Introduction to Sociology

DETAILS
Semester-hour credits: 3
Tuition: $448.50
Methods: e-mail

DESCRIPTION
The objective of this course is to explore the discipline of sociology. We will begin by examining what the field of sociology is all about—what people who call themselves sociologists actually do. We will also focus upon the various subjects that sociologists study: from the minute level of interpersonal social relationships, to global systems of adaptation and change. The purpose of this course is not only to provide you with a better understanding of sociology, but also to help you acquire a new perspective with which to make sense of an increasingly perplexing society.

REQUIRED MATERIALS & TEXTBOOKS
Book Thompson, William E., and Joseph V. Hickey. Society in Focus: An Introduction to Sociology. 5th Edition. Boston: Allyn and Bacon. ISBN 0-205-44107-6
