Book Nash, Jeffrey, et al., The American People: Creating a Nation and a Society, Vol. 1 6th edition.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
  • There will be a midterm and a final. Each examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions and will cover only its section, i.e., the final examination is not comprehensive. The examinations account for 60% of the final grade. Please note, however, that students who do not score at least 60% on the final examination will not pass the course. Study guides in the syllabus appendix will help you prepare for these tests. You will have a maximum of two hours to complete each examination. The examinations are closed book and require a proctor.

  • In addition to the examinations, course requirements include four writing assignments that will account for 40% of the final grade. Each must be typed, double-spaced, and consist of two to three pages.  These assignments are to help you digest and analyze the information with the aim of increasing your understanding of it. Topics are in the Lessons and Assignments Section placed in the lesson number when you should complete and submit them.
