GEOG 101: Physical Geography
3 semester-hour credits - Tuition $448.50
Focus is on the complex interface of the four components of Earth's environment -- atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere. The dynamics of the atmosphere will be explored to include insulation and temperature, pressure, wind and disturbances followed by climactic zones and global distribution. The hydrologic cycle will be examined along with its influence on the surface/terrain of the Earth and its "living" sphere, the biosphere. Finally, the student will examine the processes shaping the earth (weathering, mass wasting, streams, coastal areas, groundwater, glacial, arid zones). Case studies will be examined and evaluated. E-mail available.

GEOG 102: Cultural Geography
3 semester-hour credits - Tuition $448.50
The contemporary world is experiencing unprecedented change. These changes, along with a deepening concern about threats to our physical environment, have heightened public awareness of the importance of geography and geographic study as a vital component in educating people for responsible global citizenship in the twenty-first century. This course is organized around the concepts of cultural region, cultural diffusion, cultural ecology, cultural integration, and cultural landscape. These five themes are introduced and are applied throughout various systemic studies of population, agriculture, political geography, cities, industry, and transportation. Material presented through case studies and map exercises. E-mail available.

GEOG 103: World Regional Geography
3 semester-hour credits - Tuition $448.50
This course will heighten student awareness of geography by examining the eleven regions of the world and their interconnections. Perspectives from physical, political, historical, economic and cultural geography will be introduced and used to characterize the uniqueness of each region. In this way each student will gain an understanding of the distinctive landscapes and the ways in which each region fits together into a spatial framework of interrelationships. Case studies for each region will be presented and evaluated. Material presented through case studies, map exercises, and assigned readings. E-mail available.
