ED 102: Teaching as a Career
1 semester-hour credits - Tuition $139
This course provides students with an opportunity to conduct classroom observations at elementary, middle and high school settings. Students prepare a report that documents observed classroom teaching and learning activities. This course is suitable for students considering teaching as a career or for practitioners desiring to upgrade their teaching skills. E-mail available.

ED 202: Foundations of Education
3 semester-hour credits - Tuition $417
Designed as a complete overview of the field of education. Provides the historical, philosophical and sociological dimensions of education; including legal and financial challenges associated with the teaching profession. Foundations includes the comprehensive study of educational theories, practices, and issues in relation to the general fields of sociology, psychology, history, philosophy, and law. On-line course, students need Internet connection of at least 56K and Netscape 4.0+ or Internet Explorer 5.0+. Course follows regular semester dates. Registration must be completed by August 1 for Fall Semester and by January 1 for Spring Semester. Please contact the Division of Continuing Education for course availability and space availability.

ED 210: Human Growth and Development for Teachers
3 semester-hour credits - Tuition $417
This course is appropriate for students working toward teacher licensure and for teaching practitioners seeking re-certification. A complete overview of human development topics for school age children is offered. Content is selected with an eye to instructional implications and actual classroom applications. Course offers new coverage of important educational concerns. Experienced teachers will enjoy a well written text that examines teaching decisions on sound psychological principles applied with enthusiasm, imagination tempered with a love of children and teaching. ED 280: Educational Media and Technology
3 semester-hour credits - Tuition $417
Prepares teachers to use technology for instruction, assessment, management, and research. ED 505: Education Across Cultures
2 semester-hour credits - Tuition $298
Analysis of multiculturalism and how the educational process can be adapted to children of diverse cultural backgrounds. The student has the option to identify the range and kinds of issues associated with multicultural teaching/learning concerns K-16, or developing multicultural learning activities that educators can implement K-12. By permission, graduate standing students in non-teaching professions may propose research on selected topics associated with diversity. Multicultural learning activity/projects must be approved by the professor. E-mail available. (Students have a six-month completion time for this course.)

ED 522: Current Issues in Education
2 semester-hour credits - Tuition $298
Contemporary problems in education, their historical development and philosophical implications. The student will identify the range and kinds of issues of educational policy that are currently confronting American education. Selected issue(s) of most concern to the student will be intensively researched, developed, and presented. Upon registration, the student will receive course guidelines outlining suggested topics and format for producing one final report. E-mail available. ED 545: Applied Educational Assessment and Instruction K-12
2 semester-hour credits - Tuition $298
This course provides a familiarization to concepts and issues in K-12 educational assessment. Students will learn assessment planning; including the constructing, analyzing and application of assessment data. The textbook has a primary focus on documentation of student performance and prepares for both instructional or accountability purposes. (Students have a six-month completion time for this course).
