| ECON 201: Principles of Macroeconomics |

Macroeconomic issues affect our working lives and business decisions everyday. This introductory course will provide you with the
skills needed to properly interpret current trends in the economy. Specifically, this course will provide you wit h an understanding
of; 1) federal tax and spending policies and the implications of debt reduction, 2) how inflation affects interest rates and the bond
and stock markets, 3) the basics of international trade and exchange rates, 4) the basic differences between conservative (Republican)
and liberal (Democrat) economic policies. Learning activities include 20 one-hour videos featuring color graphics presentation. Your
user-friendly Lecture and Study Guide is a hard copy of the graphics presentation with margin space for your additional notes. E-mail
available. Prerequisite: MATH 109 or MATH 121 or permission of instructor for non-business majors.

Emphasis on how microeconomics applies to life's activities and decisions makes this course well suited for business majors or others
interested in a greater understanding of the economy. Topics include price and profit decisions by firms, competition between firms,
consumer demand, how markets address environmental issues, how wages are determined and the role of government when markets work well
and when markets fail. Learning activities include 20 one-hour videos featuring color graphics presentation. Your user-friendly
