ECON 202 – Principles of Microeconomics

DETAILS Semester-hour credits: 3 Tuition: $448.50 DVD/Videotape: $75 Methods: DESCRIPTION While microeconomics is concerned with scarcity, we also explore many topics of interest to business students and practitioners. REQUIRED MATERIALS & TEXTBOOKS Guide: Principles of Microeconomics: Lecture and Study Guide. By Kevin Duncan. Text: Microeconomics: Principle and Policy. 10th Edition by Baumol and Blinder COURSE REQUIREMENTS * Note that the end of chapter assignments for chapters one and two are due two weeks after you have received the materials. The midterm will cover the material from lectures #1 through #10. The final will cover material since the midterm (lectures #11 to #20). The instructor will select at random 3 of the assignments that are found at the end of each lecture in the guide. After you have taken the final, remove the questions from the guide and return them to the instructor, along with your short paper for grading. Paper - Select a newspaper or magazine article. Search for something with microeconomic content. Use economic reasoning to analyze the main point of the article.  Select the main issue and provide a detailed explanation of this point using the tools discussed in this course.  Turn in a copy of the article with your paper, including the date and where it appeared. Papers are to be typed, double spaced and no longer than 3 pages.
