DETAILS Semester-hour credits: 1 Tuition: $149.50 Methods: DESCRIPTION A "home-laboratory” to accompany the video lessons for Chemistry and Society. A series of laboratory exercises from the World of Chemistry Essentials Study Guide. The body of knowledge that we call chemistry is a rich and fascinating field of theory and fact, which has been accumulated through laboratory experimentation. This course is an exploration of the techniques of hypothesis, experimentation and explanation which compose the scientific method. REQUIRED MATERIALS & TEXTBOOKS Study Guide with Selected Solutions to Accompany World of Chemistry Essentials, Walt Volland, Saunders College Publishing, 3rd Ed., 2004. COURSE REQUIREMENTS The course consists of ten lab activities from the study guide on the general topics presented in the video portion of the course. There are no examinations.
