ART 100 – Visual Dynamics

DETAILS Semester-hour credits: 3 Tuition: $448.50 Methods: DESCRIPTION The course will emphasize understanding and describing art, learning how it is made, recognizing art design and placing art in historical context following the format of the text. REQUIRED MATERIALS & TEXTBOOKS Sayre, Henry M. A World of Art- With Art Notes.. 5th ed. New Jersey: Prentice Hall, 2006. ISBN-13: 978-0132221863 COURSE REQUIREMENTS Three (3) open-book tests monitored by a proctor. Each of them must be completed in 2 hours. The exams will include definitions, true/false, fill in the blank, multiple choice, short answer and essay questions that are taken directly from the assigned text. A reaction paper on one artist or a group of artists needs to be submitted and include at least one visual representation of art and two sources of reference in a bibliography with one being the class text.
