Anthropology more than any other discipline focuses
on the broad
spectrum of the human
condition; looking at
societies from around the
world and from all
times. We may see behaviors and values that at first
appear strange, illogical, and maybe even disquieting.
This course will explore the variety of human
experiences by
focusing on institutions,
such as marriage or
the family, and the variety of forms
that they take in the many societies that inhabit our world.
It is my hope that
if you are in a position to influence
the
outcome of cultural
change, this course will enable
that outcome to be
positive. |
