| You must be accepted and enrolled in a degree-seeking program and
must declare a major at the university in order to
receive financial aid. You may not receive aid for correspondence or telecommunication courses unless they are part of an associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree program.
If you indicated that you would be a
full-time undergraduate student, you must be enrolled for a
minimum of twelve (12) credit hours for fall and spring semester, or six (6) credit hours for summer term. You must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours in order to receive any loan funds proceeds. You must be enrolled in the semester for which you have received financial aid or you will lose the aid.
The amount of financial aid awards is limited for students enrolled exclusively in independent study courses delivered through the print-based correspondence method, which is the main method of course delivery currently in the External Degree Completion Program at CSU-Pueblo. A student enrolled solely in these correspondence study courses cannot be considered more than a half time student no matter how many credits the student is taking, so the awards are limited accordingly.
Students receiving financial aid must check with a
financial aid counselor to determine how taking a
correspondence course will affect their award. Students
are responsible for meeting ALL of the university’s
financial aid conditions and course completion
requirements during each semester they receive aid or
risk being put on financial aid suspension. Questions
regarding this policy may be directed to the Student
Financial Services office at 719-549-2753.
Additionally, company sponsored tuition and military assistance programs may be used for CSU-Pueblo courses. We also encourage students to seek scholarship aid from local civic groups that may sponsor such study. CSU-Pueblo courses are approved for the DANTES program. Eligible military personnel should process DANTES applications through their education office.
